The National Hockey League has cancelled all regular-season hockey
games through November 30th as a function of the absence of a collective
bargaining agreement between the league and the players' union.
The cancellation effectively wipes out over one-quarter of the season —
a total of 326 regular-season games scheduled between October 11th and
November 30th.
This makes the Red Wings' first season game a 7:00 PM face-off against
the San Jose Sharks on December 1st.
